Cyrus is a comedy-drama film that revolves around a middle-aged man named John who is still struggling to move on from his divorce seven years ago. He lives alone and has not been able to find love again. His ex-wife, Jamie, is getting married again and this news further depresses him. However, things take an unexpected turn when he meets Molly, a charming and vivacious woman. They instantly hit it off and start dating. John is over the moon and feels like he has finally found someone who truly understands him. Little does he know that Molly has a 21-year-old son named Cyrus who is extremely attached to her. Cyrus is an extremely possessive and manipulative young man who does not take kindly to his mother's newfound relationship. He sees John as a threat and begins to play mind games to sabotage their relationship. As John and Molly's relationship deepens, Cyrus becomes increasingly hostile and tries to drive a wedge between them. What follows is a rollercoaster of emotions as John tries to navigate the complexities of dating a woman with a grown son who is unwilling to let go. The film explores themes of love, family dynamics, and the lengths one would go to in order to protect their relationship. As the tension between John and Cyrus reaches its peak, a series of unexpected events unfold, leading to a heartwarming yet bittersweet resolution that leaves everyone involved with a newfound understanding of love and acceptance.
